Collegiate Curly: Arielle Ashley

I don't know about you but lately I've been having the urge to cut my hair. Seeing this beauty has done nothing but increased that urge even the more. Check out Arielle's lovely curls, and learn more about her short hair routine!

I have been natural all my life so there is no inspiration behind why I “became” natural because I always have been. However, in March of 2017 I shaved my head simply because I wanted to. I felt that it was time for a change.

All my life I’ve been known for having big long curly hair, and that didn't bother me but I felt like people thought that my hair defined who I was and that was honestly not the case.

So I chopped it off, and do i regret it ? people ask me all the time. Absolutely not. Cutting my hair was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. It was a fresh start, something new, something out of my comfort zone.

Now having this short cut isn't the easiest especially since I am in the process of growing it back out. My go to style now is

honestly slicked down edges with a cute scarf to protect my curls.

In the beginning it was finger waves, but its getting cooler and I'm loving my scarves. My gem products would definitely be coconut oil eco styler and got 2 glued to keep these edges in place all day because honey ! this Charleston heat is nothing to play with.

There isn't a certain way that I use my eco-styler other than running through my hair and making sure I don't have any dry spots. Though with the got 2 glued you have to be careful I only use that on my edges because this stuff is heavy duty and will literally glue your hair down and it won't move until you decide you want to rinse it out.

The only other time I use this product is when I want to slick my hair down for the day. I don't have any problem areas at the moment and I pray I don't encounter any in the future. I love being natural because my hair texture is fairly easy to deal with and I don't have to do much to get my hair to look the way I want it to. I hope that I can be an inspiration to others to love their hair and texture no matter the length, or texture!
