Street Style Look of the Week: James Scott

James Scott the III from Beaufort SC, is an accounting major at the University of South. He is definitely one of the most eye-catching sophomores. His unapologetic style was inspired by Will Smith and Kid Cudi, as he was randomly scrolling through Twitter when day he saw pictures of them in a crop top and thought “Hmm…I wonder why these aren’t still in style or why they fell off.” So, he decided to bring them back, which he is doing successfully. The best way to describe his style is edgy and daring, that way he is not repeating the same consecutive looks. He does not necessarily have a go to style because he likes to explore is up and try new looks. James favorite line is Polo Ralph Lauren, as he usually just throws on a polo tee and some ripped jeans/colorful shorts so the look isn’t just plain. Hands down however James style is nothing short of unique, as no one else on campus is found rocking his outfit. His outfits are so daring because he defines societies norms of what is appropriate. As he states, “It's sad because if more people focused on the fashion itself instead of the sexuality that what they were embodies, then they'd be able to utilize different fashion styles.” When James was asked what advice would he give to others who are too shy to express themselves he quotes the beautiful Rihanna saying, "She can beat me, but she can't beat my outfit." James unapologetic style is the reason he was chosen as the style of the week.
