Beauty Influencer ✔️ Business Owner✔️ Makeup Artist✔️ What does this college student from Washington D.C have to offer? She is only 20 years old and she is making an impact in her community and in the beauty industry. #BlackGirlMagic!
I, Tamia from Collegiate Curls JWU-Charlotte, had the opportunity to chat with the young lady Showna. She is the owner of Beauty by Showna. Check out our conversation below!

Tamia: What is your company’s goal?
Showna: My goal is to reach as many people as possible so that they can see what products and services I offer. I don’t want to stay as a local business that is stationed in Charlotte, North Carolina and Washington D.C., but to branch out internationally.

Tamia: What is so unique about your business?
Showna: I specifically want to make it personal. I don’t want it to be a service that you just attend to, but to make sure my clients are given a clear understanding of [what I can do for their] beauty and hair.
Tamia: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Showna: I have a passion for makeup and construction for custom [weave] units so I decided to make a business out of it. What better time to make that happen other then now? I want to brand who I am and show people what I am about.
Tamia: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, why would it be?
Showna: Just got for it, especially if you think you can make a change in the community. You will eventually find a good group of people to accept your mission and will eventually support you. I go by these three pointers:
1. Don’t be afraid
2. Plan ahead
3. Put your all into it
