Natural Hair in the Workplace

On Monday, the Collegiate Curls sector of USC Upstate collaborated with The Xi Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. for our most recent event. We had a discussion panel about natural hair in the work place. We had a lovely turn out with a lot of students with natural hair and students who were transitioning. They had questions about their journey. Our speakers Eboni, Kayla, and Stephanye spoke to us about their hair journey and how they deal with questions from their co co workers when they switch up their hair. They also shared that you should not shrink yourself down in order for a job or the workers to like you! The bottom line is to choose a career or organization that will accept you for you in all aspects.

Whether you like an every day bun, or faux locs for days, never diminish yourself to fit in! If the career is for you, they will accept what you bring to the table.

We had a fabulous time at this event and look forward to ending the Fall semester with a bang!
